There's a place where fear won't find you
Where your secret dreams remind you
This is all you have to know and
This is all you have to go on
Everything you have inside you
Everything you need to guide you
This is all you
have to know and
This is all you have to go on

My Valentine
Kate Havnevik - Travel in Time
Strange, how it can be
Dark for you is dawn for me
Time has intervened
Summer wind is autumn breeze
Can I meet you in between?
Will you be there?
Let me hold you silently,
Still in the air
At the fall of night
Realize how much I miss you
Move from dark to light
I travel time to subtly kiss you
Will you meet me in between
I will be there
Come and hold me silently,
Still in the air
Strange, how it can be
Time has intervened
Strange, how it can be
Dark for you is dawn for me
Time has intervened
Summer wind is autumn breeze
Can I meet you in between?
Will you be there?
Let me hold you silently,
Still in the air
At the fall of night
Realize how much I miss you
Move from dark to light
I travel time to subtly kiss you
Will you meet me in between
I will be there
Come and hold me silently,
Still in the air
Strange, how it can be
Time has intervened

Waking up with a sweet
song playing in my mind...
"Annie's Song" by John Denver
You fill up my senses
like a night in the forest
like the mountains in springtime,
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert,
like a sleepy blue ocean
you fill up my senses,
come fill me again.
Come let me love you,
let me give my life to you
let me drown in your laughter,
let me die in your arms
let me lay down beside you,
let me always be with you
come let me love you,
come love me again.
(instrumental)
You fill up my senses
like a night in the forest
like the mountains in springtime,
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert,
like a sleepy blue ocean
you fill up my senses,
come fill me again.

Imagining Jesus
Every culture around the world imagines Jesus as one of their own. I never for a minute thought that Jesus looked like a Bee Gee.
But - when I was a kid, I really did have a solid image for my thought-communions with Jesus.
Cat Stevens. Really. I was so disappointed when he became a fanatic.
But look here - a video of a live performance of "Tuesday's Dead" from the 1976 Earth Tour.
This suggests my internal image of Jesus more closely than anything else I can reference. Joyful, energetic, hopeful, deep, loving, beautiful. Who knows? He might have looked a bit like this.
Enjoy.
"Tuesday's Dead" - Cat Stevens
If I make a mark in time, I can't say the mark is mine.
I'm only the underline of the word.
Yes, I'm like him, just like you, I can't tell you what to do.
Like everybody else I'm searching thru what I've heard.
Whoa, Where do you go? When you don't want no one to know?
Who told tomorrow Tuesday's dead
Oh preacher won't you paint my dream, won't you show me where you've been
Show me what I haven't seen to ease my mind.
Cause I will learn to understand, if I have a helping hand.
I wouldn't make another demand all my life.
What's my sex, what's my name, all in all it's all the same.
Everybody plays a different game, that is all.
Now, man may live, man may die searching for the question why.
But if he tries to rule the sky he must fall.
Now every second on the nose, the humdrum of the city grows.
reaching out beyond the throes of our time.
We must try to shake it down. Do our best to break the ground.
Try to turn the world around one more time.
Yeah, we must try to shake it down do our best to break the ground
Try to turn the world around one more time

Higher Ground
Barack Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast. It's difficult to take the higher ground, but when you see it, you know it, you feel it. And it is better. But it's hard.
Compare it to the usual National Prayer Breakfast - of almost any other President. He took a very controversial situation - and speaking to a very hostile audience - and did his very best to appeal to whatever good may reside there.
It gives me energy and a little bit of hope again - even in the knowledge that this will be spun and spun. Just look at the video - and grow up.
